Devious Journal Entry

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 2, 2013, 5:44 PM
Facebook l Toy Review Blog l Twitter l Website l Customs for sale l Guides l Gallery

Journal time! What's up? What's new? Well it's 2013 and I have a brand new background for my customs. It allows for brighter colors and less glare with the new set up and works with all colors...well providing I don't make a tan-stone-colored custom. But unlike my black fabric background a figure wearing black won't disappear!

Also you know how we need clear colored paint more than the primary red, blue, yellow, etc that Tamiya and Testors has? Well I found the answer, acrylic Suncatcher paints! They sell them in sets at Walmart for $2.50 and have pink, purple, even black and neons. They dry to a super hard finish and work on all the plastics I've tried them on without making them sticky. The only downside is it takes about 3 hours to fully cure. But for energy effects they're FANTASTIC! Just take a look at my most recent Gambit custom. I'll check Michaels crafts and see if they have those colors in a bigger volume, clear purple/pink is used in a lot of X-men customs.

I've been a follower of yours for a long time now, and I just wanted to say that every new figure you post up here never ceases to impress me. The level of detail and care that you put in is more than readily apparent. Keep up the amazing work! It always reminds me of my childhood dream of one day becoming a toy maker =P

I'm looking for a Megatron action figure to scale with my 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime figure. OP measures at about 12 inches, and I'm trying to find a Megatron to scale up to a little bit around that height. I'm planning to do a bit of customization on it, but I've had no such luck finding the basis for such a Megatron. Do you know of any Megatron figures that could scale up to my Optimus?
