After finding the head to a classics Optimus Prime under my desk (so that's where it went after his arms went to make Shockwave!) I thought to myself it's been a while since I made an Optimus. Of course he needed a body. Searching...searching... A Henkei Inferno caught my eye with the bright red colors, chest windows, and square arms. I removed his toes and blocked out his foot like Prime's using styrene, got rid of his shoulder lights, and Then repainted him with Tamiya spray lacquer. But he was still missing something. Smokestacks! I snagged the gun to classics Prime and modded it to attach to his back. Now he can wear his weapon for a more G1 look or fire it. The extra black detailing on him and cannon in the back reminds me of the Animated Prime as well, that and him being a fire/rescue vehicle. So here's Generation Animation Prime.

Sick work bud.Love this mold. Do you use line accent colors for the paneling or mix you own or what? Never tried to do panel lining yet but really dig the look when its done right. Real inspiration with what I've seen you put out here in DA and on a bunch of the other customizer sites.

Both, most of my colors are hand mixed shades and I do like to use black or dark gray for paneling to add variety.,

Right on. I mostly work with acylics on top of an enamel with gloss coat, what is the best kind of thinner to get a good lining mix with? Lots of questions for ya, sorry bout that...lots to learn. You guys ever think of doing live streams when working on your customs? I bet you could get a pretty good audience from the communities for that kinda thing. Anyway, thanks for the info.Cheers!

maybe it's the fact that I love all things Optimus, or the fact that this is just awesome, but this is definitely one of my favorite pieces you've ever done. I think I had this idea a while back... glad to see what it looks like without having to do the work myself :P

actually, with the gun attached to his arm like that, it would be cool to see this mold colored up like the G2 "Hero" Optimus Prime. Sure, its essentially the same as this, but FINALLY there would be a good reason for him to have the front of the truck on his chest! haha
