Not so American Gladiatorby *Jin-Saotome

Here's a fan request I've had quite often, the captain of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, Gladiator! He was made from a basic DCU body with sculpted leggings, Omac's head with sculpted ears/widows peak, and Red Tornado's cape. If I remember right this was Marvel's answer to DC's Superman character, right down to the heat vision and vulnerability to a 'certain cosmic radiation'.

That was until Marvel made the Squadron Supreme and created Hyperion. Heck pretty much has the same back story in two cases.

No he doesn't have a weakness to a certain cosmic radiation what his weakness is has to do with how his powers work, you see the power source for his powers is his confidence because the more confident he is the more powerful he is and the less confident he is the less powerful he is and of course if he has no confidence he's powerless.

Gladiator is based more on Supes' time with the Legion of Super-Heroes; all of the Imperial Guards are loosely based on the Legionnaires [link] .
