Whirl Strip by Jin-Saotome Whirl Strip by Jin-Saotome
Whirl is one unstable and dangerous Autobot as he's portrayed in the comics and I decided to recreate him IDW style. Here I used a Generations Springer mold and modded it with movie Ravage lower legs, an armored core head, Kre-O scorponok claws, and c-clip weapons. The claws instead of hands really work well to distinguish Whirl as do his new bird-like lower legs. The front gun can be pegged underneath when you transform him and the c-clip weapons can be folded against his forearms or placed on his wings. One comic-style paint job and semigloss seal later he was ready to...uh...whirl into action!

Want to own one of my customs like this one? Head on over to my Ebay Auction: [link] this week to see what's available.

I'll be darn. That's perfect. That is actually the perfect body to make a classics Whirl from. I hope someone at Hasbro sees this.

I'm not really feeling ROTF Ravage's legs on the Tomahawk/GDO Springer mold. I've seen some people mistransform the stock legs on the figure to make them fairly similar to his MTME design. I thought that simple change was effective and all that was needed for a modernized Whirl.

This is one of my top favorite things you've ever done. I only wish you could have found some bigger claws, but I suppose they aren't easy to find. Love the way this came together. Ravage's lower legs? Way to see potential and make it work! You are the man. This is TOTALLY Whirl.
And that blue is excellent.

Yeah, these claws fit into the body but just barely. I could re-do him with larger claws but they'd have to partsform under the wings perhaps. The accessories for the Disney Cars-launchers has a claw like that. I could snag some/.
