When you parents tell you there's no such things as monsters they're usually right.
Usually.

"MOM!!! MOTHER!!!!" I cried out.
She came quickly to my bedside.

"Honey, what is it? What's the matter?"
"I saw it! It was right outside my window!"
"Honey, there's nothing there."
"No! I saw it! It was right outside!"

That was the first time I saw it.
Every autumn brings the cool winds and the harvest.
But it also brings something else.
I tell myself it's just a shadow.
I tell myself it'll go away if I close my eyes.
But things like this don't listen to little boys.

I can see it just outside my window again.
I can't scream now, my throat is too dry.
My parents will tell me there's nothing outside.
So I lie there awake, as still as I can be.

The window is opening... oh god.
There's no such thing as monsters.
That's what my parents say.
So I'll close my eyes and count to three.
It won't be there when I open them.

"One."

"Two."

"Th-......"

People have been asking how I made this. It's actually created from parts and pieces of action figures, a hobby commonly called customizing. The main body is a Spawn toys Mechanical Violator, legs from a Men in Black Edgar roach, back horns from a Godzilla movie toy, fur made from a black feather boa, and a custom sculpted head made from Aves Apoxie Sculpt. This was on display years ago at Sci Fi City in Orlando Florida where the WotC people dropped by to see it since it was based on their card art of the same name. Kinda freaked them out too!
